2. How to practice your Welsh
How to practice your Welsh
To learn Welsh thoroughly, you will need to get in a lot of practice. You will also need to repeat things a lot!
In taking this course, you may have watched the videos once, or maybe twice. You may have downloaded the audio and listened to it once or twice. To get really good, listen to the audio as many times as you can bear it! Watch the videos until you are total fed up with them! Repetition is your friend and you will be amazed at what you will remember simply by listening, watching and reading over and over again.
If you have downloaded the Vocabulary and Pattern sections at the end of each part of this course, perhaps you’ve completed them once? Print out those sheets again and write that vocabulary not until you get it right, but until you don’t get it wrong!
No course, no matter how thorough, can teach you everything you need to know when learning a language. The best way to learn is by exposing yourself to as much Welsh as possible. Watch Welsh TV, listen to Welsh music, radio and podcasts. Follow Welsh speakers on social media, read Welsh magazines. If you can, go to places where people speak Welsh. Even if you don’t think you have much to add to a conversation, simply being present and listening to others will help you build your language.
