Learn how to make a Welsh New Year traditional Perllan apple for Calennig with Tyfu Cymraeg. A perllan is made by children in Wales before they go out for Calennig on New Year's morning. They take their apple, studded with cloves, box and other greenery and decorations and after singing songs and rhymes, they are given sweeties and money from the people they visit. Follow this short video with Taliesin and Elin making a Perllan in Whitchurch, Cardiff on New Year's Eve.
