Croeso i Tyfu Cymraeg!
My name is Elin and I’ve been teaching Welsh for around 15 years since taking a degree in Welsh at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. You can find more about me and Tyfu Cymraeg on the About page. I’m so pleased to welcome you and can’t wait to help you dysgu Cymraeg.
Many of the resources, workshops and sessions are free for you to use so if you find them useful, please consider buying me a coffee in return. Diolch!
How can Tyfu Cymraeg help with my Welsh learning?
Gwersi ar-lein Online lessons
I’m a friendly and relaxed teacher with lots of experience, particularly with those who are a bit nervous. Lessons are created specifically to your needs and go at a pace to suit you. After your session I’ll send sound files and a PDF of what we have learned as well as other resources where required.
I hold free Welsh Workshops fortnightly on Saturdays. Beginners meet at 1pm and the Intermediate group meet at 10am. If you’d like to join in, drop me a note via the contact page and I will send you more details.
Sesiwn Siarad Chat Session
We also have occasional evening Sesiwn Siarad meetings online where you can join in with a chat or sit back and listen to others speak the language. Again, if you’d like to get in touch, leave a comment or drop me a note via the contact page.
My easy to read blog posts are designed to help get you more confident at reading Welsh. I also use the blog to keep you up to date with what’s going on here at Tyfu Cymraeg and with our friends at Derby Welsh Learners’ Circle and Menter Iaith Lloegr.
I regularly upload vocabulary sheets, bookmarks, worksheets, games, grammar and other resouces to the website which you can download as a PDF and print out or view on a device.
You’re welcome to use these resources with other groups and I especially welcome tutors and teachers to download and distribute freely. If there’s a resource you’d like which isn’t already on the website, let me know and I’ll add it to my list to create.
You can keep in touch with me about all things Cymraeg on Twitter and Instagram. I’m often online on Monday evenings during the Awr Y Dysgwyr or Learners’ Hour from 9pm to answer your questions or just have a chat. Use the hashtag #aydysgwyr to join in.
Sign up to the mailing list to be kept up to date with everything that’s going on.
